Google Sitemaps

Google Sitemaps has added some new features to this tool. https://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps
Having a sitemap and submitting to Google will help Google index your pages correctly.

Google Analytics

Google has just launched a new free program Google Analytics
They're offering free web-based statistical information. They bought URCHIN so it looks like they are using that technology to run the system. I just signed up for my own account yesterday and it takes 12 hours before I can see the data but so far it was easy to setup, easy to add the code the my pages, and runs smooth. There are some slowness issues with the Google site but those should be ironed out soon enough as more people use it.
Looks good so far.

Jagger 3

Jagger 3 is pretty much rolled out in Google. Look for lots of shakeups in the rankings. My sites seem to have improved but time will tell. The search engine that has been the best for my sites has always been MSN, but Google is the most popular one so it's good when my sites improve there.

If you find sites that clearly should be ranked where they are in Google fill out a Spam Report at http://www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html

Google - Jagger Update

It looks like Google is shaking things up over at the Googleplex.

Hopefully all of my sites will benefit from this shakeup and increase placement. I do hear that a lot of people are getting angry when they see their site go down in ranking. This update is a three step update and looks like they're on step 2 right now.

Updated Web Tools

I added a buch of tools from iwebtool.com.
The best site for DNS tools is http://dnsstuff.com and their Firefox extension is excellent.

Finished Updating site

I just finished updates on one of my customer's websites http://www.deck-co.com
The updates involved some text changes and an addtion of a "Deck of the Summer" page http://deck-co.com/deckofthesummer.htm and an overhaul of the materials page http://deck-co.com/materials.htm. The materials page now has a nice mouseover effect to display the various wood types.
